Out of the box increase your bufferpool size the default is very small
50000 if you can.
Increase the logbufsiz in the db cofiguration, I believe, this is
critical in oltp or write intensive applications.
In the registry
DB2_PARALLEL_IO=*
IF YOU HAVE RAID 5 devices under your file systems.
There are a bunch of other heaps, sort, java, application... that may
need tweaking but the first two suggestions are in my opinion the best
"white washers". Good luck.
