Good Morning Rama
When using HACMP and DB2, in order to do a successful failover, the db2
instance/database must resided in the shared filesystem. If it does not,
then a failover will not bring up your DB2 instance on the "new" primary
node.

Subject
Is it possible to Implement HACMP
Failover for already created
instance?
Hi Gurus,
I'm new to HACMP and DB2.In my enviromenment we are using DB2 8.2 on
AIX.We have 2 instances.
In this HACMP failover for Database was implemented. At the time of
installing HACMP there was only one instance and implemented for that
instance. After that our people have created another instance in non shared
volume group and we created databases in that and those are populated wit
data.Here the problem is,
Is it possible to implement the HACMP failover for the newly created
Instance?
if possible what are the steps I need to follow?
please guide me solving this problem.
Thanks & Regards,
RK.
