Pavan,

You are getting this error becaues your .profile doesnot include db2profile.
Do the following:

1. Go to your home directory i.e. /home/$user
2. vi .profile
3. At the end type the following
. /home/$instance/sqllib/db2profile(remember there is a space between "." and "/")

Save the file logout and login and hopefully you should be able to connect.

why do i get the following error when i type any db2 command ?
$db2 connect to sample
ksh: db2: not found.

i believe i need to make some changes to my profile. can anyone guide me ?
