RE: db2 installation

Probably it is because of the underlying file system permission. I will
ask unix adm to grant me the full access tomorrow, do the test and let you
guys know the result.

Perhaps you have an underlying file system permission problem wherein
you cannot create the datasets required at DB creation time?

Looks strange...can you create a new user-id in lower-case, add it to
DB2IADM1 group, login as 'lower-case' id and try the command
again.....:)

This is the output from dbm cfg:
SYSADM group name (SYSADM_GROUP) = DB2IADM1

I checked smit, my instance owner DBTSTCE1 belongs to group DB2IADM1.

What else?

Check the value of SYSADM_GROUP

db2 "get dbm cfg"|grep SYSADM_GROUP

Make sure you update this parameter with the group you belong to,
restart
DB2 and try your command again :)

Hi,

I installed DB2 V8.2 on AIX 5.3, and create an instance.

Then I loged on as instance owner DBTSTCE1 and run create database
command: create database tstce
I got the following error message

SQL1092N "DBTSTCE1" does not have the authority to perform the
requested
command.

What is the problem?
