the db2_kill is the preferred way to go. the kill -9 can cause the instance
to crash.

PDF EEE Environment
More coffee anyone?
I recently visited a PDF (EEE) environment where an application got
hung. The db2 force command would not work but the kill process-id for
this simple app would bring down the node. What doe IBM expect natural
born killers to do?
What the heck is this all about? Anyone know why killing a simple app
agent brings down the house?
If you cant kill, db2kill or db2_kill, what else is there to do?
Unplug the machine like my Tandy 2000 with 4K memory?
Happy Holidays!
