To All,
I finally figured out the problem. It was not the database server. I
had the "developers"(Oh my! Phew!) increase the timeout parameter in the
Visual Basic 6.0 code to 300 seconds (5 minutes) and it worked!
Thanks for all of your input!
It's Fridayyyyyyyyyyyyy! Partyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Hehe.
Have a great Day and Weekend!

Subject: DB2 version 8.2, Fixpack 7, for Windows
To All,
We go down every night and run an offline backup of our DB2 database.
Then we come back online and one of our procedures is supposed to run.
It starts to run and we get a timeout and bombs out. Then we run the
procedure a second time and it runs successfully. Does anyone knows
what is causing this to happen? Does it have something to do with
prefetch or recompiling? We tried rebinding all procedures using the
db2rbind command but that did not help. Thanks.
BTW, a Visual Basic 6.0 application is calling this procedure. The
error message is: Run-time error '3172' : Operation has been cancelled
by user.
As I said earlier, we rerun the Visual Basic 6.0 application again and
it works. Thanks.
