Martin,
Did your off-line backup happen to occur when log S0039784.LOG was active?
I am thinking maybe the off-line backup archived that log and is
interrupting your on-line recovery using it. I am certainly no expert,
just thinking that may be the cause.

Andy

AM Rollforward
Hi All,
Am trying to setup a hot backup database by restoring a backup image and
copying the logfiles, and then running repeated ROLLFORWARD TO END OF
LOGS commands.
But the rollforward keeps erroring:
F:\>DB2 ROLLFORWARD DATABASE PHOENIX TO END OF LOGS OVERFLOW LOG PATH
("E:\E1DBSAUTOBACKUPS_OFFLINE\PHOENIX.0\Logs3")
SQL1265N The archive log file "S0039785.LOG" is not associated with the
current log sequence for database "PHOENIX" on node "0".
F:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>DB2 ROLLFORWARD DATABASE PHOENIX query
status
Rollforward Status
Input database alias = PHOENIX
Number of nodes have returned status = 1
Node number = 0
Rollforward status = DB working
Next log file to be read = S0039785.LOG
Log files processed = S0039755.LOG - S0039783.LOG
Last committed transaction = 2006-11-29-17.46.41.000000
I have an online backup running every night at 4:30 and an offline
running every week. But the backup image is too big to transfer every
day, however the log files are more transportable :-)
So the plan is to transfer one backup image, then every hour zip, ftp
and unzip the Archived Log Files.
Then keeping a DB in the roll forward pending state every hour run a
Rollforward to the end of logs command.
Sound in principal - but doesn't seem to work in practice!
Odd thing is that from the above query status it seems to have missed
S0039784.LOG!
Am running on W2003 DB2 8.2
Any advice?
Regards,
Martin
