DB2 UDB Version 8.2, Fixpack 7, for Windows (SQL Stored Procedures and Functions)

 

  

Hey John,
So, you are running DB2 UDB, version 8.2 on Windows, also! Below is
how I move SQL Stored Procedures and Functions from Sourcesafe to the
Production database.


FUNCTIONS

1. Go to Sourcesafe and get the latest version of the applicable
function
2. Open up the DB2 Command Editor on the Production server
3. Paste the code from Step #1 in the Command Editor
4. Click the Execute (green) arrow


PROCEDURES

1. Go to Sourcesafe and get the latest version of the applicable
procedure
2. Open up the DB2 Command Editor on the Production server
3. Paste the code from Step #1 in the Command Editor
4. At the bottom of the Command Editor, change the "Statement
termination character" from a semicolon(;) to an exclamation point(!)
5. Click the Execute (green) arrow
6. After successful deploying of the stored procedure, change the
"Statement termination character" back to a semicolon(;)
