You need to create an instance and once the instance is created.
db2 catalog tcpip node mynode remote x.x.x.x server 50000 (where the xxxx
is the ip of the server and the 50000 is the svcename port
of the server)
db2 catalog database sample as sample at node mynode authentication
server.
Add en entry to /etc/services like
db2cdb2 50000/tcp
db2idb2 50001/tcp (v7 only)

AM Define a Connection when only UDB
client is installed on Unix
Hi Gurus,
I have installed only the UDB client on my solaris machine. Now I want to
define a connection from the solaris machine to a server which is on a
Windows box. Can you people let me know as to how do I go about doing that.
If the client is on windows then we can easily open the GUI tools and
define
the connection, but how do we define the connection when only the client is
installed on the Unix machine.
Thanks,
AB
