Calling all the Gurus:

We are converting data from Infomix to UDB v9.2 on AIX

Database structure are the same, char(30):
the problem is :
the exported data from Infomix is a 30 char field data in Germany, with
2 little dots on top,
when import this field into UDB, UDB rejects the record for the "length
is too long".
If the field in a record is less than 30 byes long, even character has
little hat, it is loaded fine.

Assume that the 2 little dots are treated as a char. Please shine some
light on how to handle this case.
