Thanks for your comments, but I was thinking about db2set -l option not
db2set -a as mentioned by you. So I feel that both db2set -l and db2ilist
does the same functionality of listing the instances present in a machine.
Am I right?

No, the db2ilist command will only give you the name of the instances
available on the host server. The db2set -a will give you all the
registry variables and their settings for the global (g), instance(i)
and database(d) levels.
