There is a "partial" roll-back option available for a unit of work in V7
and later versions....check the following statements in SQL reference
manual 2.
ROLLBACK TO SAVEPOINT savepoint-name
SAVEPOINT savepoint-name UNIQUE ON ROLLBACK RETAIN CURSORS ON ROLLBACK
RETAIN LOCKS

For the cursors part of your question I was told to investigate the "WITH

I don't know which version of DB2 this became available with.
I'm not aware of a way of committing to one table without committing to
the
rest.
