You can set the registry variable DB2_OVERRIDE_BPF=YES while DB2 is down.
This will tell db2 to only use the hidden bufferpools. Then bring up db2 and
alter your bufferpools to an appropriate size. Reset the registry variable
DB2_OVERRIDE_BPF= or DB2_OVERRIDE_BPF=NO. Bring down db2. Then bring db2 up.
The command to set the registry variable is:
db2set DB2_OVERRIDE_BPF=YES
To turn off the override use
db2set DB2_OVERRIDE_BPF=NO
To remove the variable use
db2set DB2_OVERRIDE_BPF=

Subject: DB2 buffer pool size
Hi there
Can you change the bufferpool size while db2 is down. i.e. change some
config file?
The current size is set to big and is brings the box down, so I cannot run
the ALTER BUFFERPOOL command.
Thanks
Robert.
