Your answer depends on this fact:
1) are you going from a system to another where the OS are the same: Win to Win or Linux to Linux or unix to unix (unix to aix,aix to sun,sun to unix or whatever.
Then backup restore (with or without redirect)
2) form Win to others or Linux to others or Unix to others. You cannot backup and restore across different OS. You will need to extract the ddl (db2look), modify the tablespace definitions, run the extracted modified sql on the target db which you will have created. Thenj on the source, extract the data (db2move .. export ..) and then populate the target db by using (db2move ... load ...)
