Re: migrate to 64 bits in AIX machine

We found that there was no real down-side to the switch for our normal
environments - with the caveat that you don't want to expand the
bufferpools too much. If you overcommit memory then AIX has swapping
issues.
If you are using DB2 as the repository for a GIS system, be aware that the
ESRI suite of products only will work with the 32-bit DB2 on AIX and Linux
unless the newest release has fixed that. It is an issue of runtime C
libraries that are used in some of the UDFs and/or stored procedures

migrate to 64 bits in AIX machine

HI all,
Our DB2UDB V8.2 (FP15) database is running on AIX 5.2 32 bits
and does anyone know if we migrate to 64bits
how good about it?
I only know the db2 will run above the line and what good about it and do
we really need to go to 64 bits?

Thanks in advance !!

Sue
