Sorry if this questions sounds simple but I'm new to UDB.
I'm running UDB 8.2 on Solaris 5.10
I'm doing an 'alternate restore' in netbackup terms - in reality restoring
a Prod backup into a test environment.
My questions are:
1. Why do I have to specify a size when I do the "set tablespace
containers" command for DMS tablespaces? Surely during a restore this
file/container will just be overwritten by backed up blocks and so
preformatting is just wasted time?
2. (and this, I suppose, follows on) When specifying the number of pages
do I have to specify the Total page size of the source
tablepsace/container or can I use the Used pages value
TIA
