It will, for the time it backsup catalog info for that tablespace. You
can't use until you see X locks has disappered from the lock list.
That's how it goes for DB2 UDB database.

And you can see that database backup utility is holding locks on the
tablespace that you are working on. Lock mode is X so you can't create
index at this time. Make sure catalog space backup and tablespace backup
is over before you try to puch that command in the database.
