Hi ,
Wat about kill command
we should first do
db2 "force applications all"
then, wait for some time; if this hangs, in another window, execute
db2stop force
Now, if the db2stop does not work or hangs, then issue a db2_kill.
We had this situation with DB2 8.1 FP-3. When we were issuing db2_kill
the engine was crashing and after doing a 'ipclean', it was fine.
When you start the engine again, it goes to crash recovery and after that,
everything was normal.
Hope this helps.
Just my input need more comments on it
Thanks,
Nadeem Khan

First check is db2 operational.
If yes then definitely "db2 force application/applications all" with work
If not then first start db2 engine.. "db2start"
Then try the force command.
Hope this help.
