package cache is up to the application as well as locklist. the mmap read
write is.25 GB when on, if you use UDFs you can also
pick up .25 GB. So if you figure that you get 8 256MB of shared on a 32
bit system, you start to use up your shared memory quick

RE: Memory Allocation in 32 bit UDB Env
Thanks,
I just have 2 Questions regarding the allocation of
pckcachesz
and
Locklist
Is it necessary to allocate so much memory to these parameters, would the
memory not be better utilised being allocated to buferpools.
Your thoughts on this.
UDFS
mmap
The above parameters, utilise a memory segment of 256 mb each, thats
available to the shared database memory.
In a transactional database environment, how would this setting be
effective as it limits the available shared memory
to be allocated to other resources of a total of 1.75 gb.
I would appreciate your thoughts on this, or am I missing the point.
Kind regards

For shared memory , its 2 GB (more likely 1.75) per instance. For real
memory you can get up to whats in the box.

Memory Allocation in 32 bit UDB Env
Hi,
I would like to know,
We have 1 database server running DB2 UDB Enterprise Edition with a total
of 20 databases across 7 Instances.
is the limit of memory that can be allocated to UDB, 4GB across All
instances and it's databases or is it 4gb per instance.
Any feedback will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Zarier
