To use DB2 Connect to access the DB2/ZOS system you need to license the
software. That's the way it is
sold.

Subject:
db2 connectivity to z/OS
Hi all,
I am trying to configure a connection between a jcc client (DB2 V9.5) and
a DB2 z/OS database via a
DB2 Connect Server. For the connection to DB2 connect I use a type 2
connection.
When Iam trying to connect to the z/OS database I always gets the error:
The version of the IBM Universal JDBC driver in use is not licensed for
connectivity to QDB2 databases.
To connect to this DB2 server, please obtain a licensed copy of the IBM
DB2 Universal Driver for JDBC and SQLJ.
An appropriate license file db2jcc_license_*.jar for this target platform
must be installed to the application classpath.
Connectivity to QDB2 databases is enabled by any of the following license
files: { db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar }
Why do i need the license file for a connection between the jcc client and
DB2 connect?
Has anyone an idea?
Thanks in advance.
J. Ross
