Is there a reasonably reliable way to determine the values to put in the tablespace parameters TRANSFERRATE and OVERHEAD by running iostat (on a Solaris box, with or without VCS) or something similar?

Alternately, would it be just as well not to even put these parameters in?

I've been searching for references online and in manuals and there is nothing for determining these values.
