RE: DB2 Unload

RE: DB2 Unload

David,

No the database does not have to be down either to load or unload.
When loading, you can delete data for other tables if the tablespace (a
container for tables) has other tables created there . Normally this is
why not to create multiple tables in same tablespace.

Normally you will load them log no and take an image copy.

Subject: DB2 Unload

DB2 v8.2 zOS

I need to load a database from production to test region. I plan on
using the U.U utility. Is there a problem with running it during normal
business hours or does DB2 have to be down? This may be elementary but
I am an Adabas DBA who has to perform DB2 administration due to vacancy
in department.
