Version 9 allows you to install the binaries where ever you want. So the
answer is yes, just pick a new path
and then create a new instance from that path to do your testing.

Running Two Different Versions of DB2 on One Server

Hi,

We are currently running DB2 9 (fix pack 2, 64 bit) on linux and have
found some problems with DB2 that are supposed to be addressed in a
higher fix pack. We have a development server that has 4 instances. We
would like to try the fix pack on one of the instances first then
migrate the others once we verify that the problems are fixed. Is that
possible?

Allison
