Let me apologize for this rather vague question, but there is no other way
to ask it. We are looking to convert two databases from an AS400
environment (V5R2) to a SQL Server environment (W2K3 server/SQL Server 2000
sp3). These two databases on the AS400 are each about 100GB in size. How
much space (a rough guess) do you think it will take on a SQL Server
platform to house this same data assuming a similar index structure, etc.?
It just sounds too simple for it to be a 1GB-to-1GB "relationship". Have
any of you done a similar conversion from DB2/UDB environment to a SQL
Server environment?
