RE: Altering tables

RE: Altering tables

Thanks for answering.

The steps that I'm doing :

1. On the source table
db2 "export ixf ... select ...."

2. On the target table
create table ... not logged initially

3. On the target table
db2 "load from claim.ixf of ixf modified by identityoverride replace into sp.claim"

I have the following :
SQL3015N An SQL error "-911" occurred during processing.

SQL0911N The current transaction has been rolled back because of a deadlock
or timeout. Reason code "68". SQLSTATE=40001

Nobody can access that table besides me.
Which ressource is timing out ?

Subject: Altering tables

Hi,

I want to change the structure of some tables. (DB2 UDB 8.1 fp3 on aix 5.2)
There is no synthax to do it in SQL. (dropping and renaming columns)

So what are the steps ?
I assume that I can extract data in a flat file
Drop and recreate the tables
Reload data

Am I right ?
