Thank you Folks for the response to my earlier mail.
From the DB2 command prompt. I cataloged a 7.x Node and 7.x database from
the 8.x Client Machine and i could connect to the database but was getting
errors.
SQL0805N Package "NULLID.SQLC2E03" was not found. SQLSTATE=51002
after i ran any SQL Statements.
After binding the following utilities. All SQL Statements are working fine
from the Command Prompt.
CLI/ODBC Support
Command Line Processor
Data Import/Export Utilities
Rexx Support
Backward Compatibility for Connecting Older 7.x databases from a 8.x client
works. To configure a older 7.x on 8.x client. Do all the cataloging of Node
and database from the command prompt. It works. If you try from the 8.x user
GUI interface, its a big mess (atleast, i found it so).
Please, post your findings if any on this issue. That would be of great help
to all of us.
regards,

Subject: Issues with DB2 8.x
Hi,
Does anyone have any idea if we can connect to DB2 UDB 7.x databases
using the DB2 UDB 8.x tools. I recently removed my 7.x setup and installed
the 8.x. I am unable to connect to the 7.x databases. I use the JDBC ODBC
connections. I thought there would have been a backward compatibility. But,
i am unable to for some reason. is there a work around so that i can connect
to Db2 UDB 7.x databases. I keep on getting the error message.
The setup routines for the IBM DB2 ODBC DRIVER ODBC driver could not be
loaded due to the system error code 126
Could not load the setup or translator library
Any ideas .... please ... if anything can be done about this. I am new to
DB2.
regards,
