1. Make sure that the db has stopped by issuing
db2 connect to <db>
2. If it complains 'No database start command issued', then run
db2_kill
3. Run
ipclean
two/three times.
3. Then issue db2start.
This should bring the engine up. Let me know if you have any problems.

Subject: db2 won't stop
db2 was using 100% of the CPU, so I issued a db2 stop from the control center, but db2 has not stopped.
I killed the process that was consuming all the cpu. how can I restart (stop and start) db2?
