The senario is quite different from what you have in mind. The Linux Box
is miles away from the AS/400 box, there is no way to perform this operation
over the network.
What we intend to do is do a db2move on a windows client that is connected
to the AS/400 db2 instance. After this we copy the files to tape then take
them to the other site where we intend to copy the files from tape to the
Linux Machine then using the db2look and db2move utilities to create an
exact copy on the linux Server.
What do you think ?

Dear Buddies,
I was at a clie

We have to migrate this AS/400 db2 database to a Linux platform.
Is it possible to do all the migration ie
>b2move, db2look from the client
side (db2 client on windows) instead of working directly on the AS/400
machine
Of course I do not know anything about AS/400.
If yes what do I have to do or take note of.
