Your suggestion worked fine with another parameter setting like
I increased the PRIMARY/SECONDARY LOG to 10 and 7..
Though amount of records is really really huge..
Now we are testing for 2 Million and 4 Million records subsequently..

If this is a one off case and if you are not really bothered about
recovery try the following
alter table <tabname> activate not logged initially; execute your insert
statement commit;
