Here is a useful document on the DB2 memory model.

Hi All,
We are in the planning of Memory Requirement for our DB2 Database.
I have a question like:
If somebody asks me how much memory does a DB2 database needs,
is it sufficient if I add all the bufferpools, lock-memory,
DB-Heap, Sort Heap[Agent Private Memory], .
Do I need to add any other components like agent private memory
components and multiply it with no. of pool agents.

Pls give me your thoughts. In front of me I have the DB2
Memory Architecture, but confused as which component will be
used and in which situation.

If any of you have worked on different vendor-databases like
Informix/Oracle/Sybase, and pls let me know how you determine
this kind of information.

All suggestions are highly appreciated.

Advanced Thanks for your time and suggestions, and,
Wishing you all Merry X-Mas and Happy Holidays.

Partha
