Check a file 'db2nodes.cfg' in <Instance-home>/sqllib directory.
If it is there, then it should have the entries like
0 <host-name> 0
This file is generated but if it is not there, you can create it.
Also, check the java path.
Before launching the control-center, try connecting to the database by
db2 connect to <db-name>
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

Subject: error in the db2nodes.cfrg file
I downloaded WR21342 and install DB2 ESE on Windows XP without uninstall
the
previous version .
After the installation finished, I am not able to start db2 instance and
get the following error:
SQL6031N error in the db2nodes.cfg file at line number "1", reason code
"10".
If I launch the control center I got
"CLI0647E Error allocating DB2 environment handle, rc=-1".
Although it says information only, no action required,
there is nothing coming up.
Any help will be appreciaed
Regards,
Wen Chang
