In preparation for long term storage of db2 data on a new distributed system (currently running DB2 8.1 on AIX 5.1), we have been doing exports on our tables so that we can re-create them 6-7 years into the future if necessary.

We have been considering using db2look to generate the necessary ddl for the database objects. While db2look will generate the dll for the tables, I don't see an option in the command reference that would enable db2look to include the commands/info to recreate the database itself.

Can I ask how you deal with this? Do you just do the create database step as a seperate task before running the db2 import on the exported data?
