Very true. You need to do explains on the queries to see if you are table
scanning the cache.

Hi,

I'm a newbie on DB2 but have a lot of experience with Oracle.
With Oracle, and I would be surprised if DB2 was different, the bufferpool
hit ratio is far from being a good indicator of overall performance.
You can have a good hit ratio and have a poor performance.
A high bufferpool ratio shows that you are reading data from cache not that
you are reading only the information you need.


Can DB2 experts confirm ?

There is no problem in having bufferpool hit ratio as 100%.
if you are getting all the data from buffercache, the performance will
obviously increase.

Bufferpool hit ratio during peak/non peak is always 100 % . Is this OK .

As per IBM 75% should suffice
