RE: DAS problems - SQL4401C

My question is : who is your DAS owner?
Pls try
Login as root and then su to 'db2as';
Then try starting the DAS.
That should clear off any problems. if not post the output.

Hi Jing,
Did you run db2iupdt process on each instance..
This is not required for DAS, but still just a check..
How are you starting DAS; pls write the steps you are following after
logging. I want ot know with what user you are trying to start..

Good luck
Partha

It is Solaris Unix. I stopped all DB2 processes before running the
Patches.

I tried many times to start the DAS. Still got same error.

I re-run the dasupdt today, but DAS can not come up. See error below:

SQL4401C The DB2 Administration Server encountered an error during
startup.
DBI1070I Program dasupdt completed successfully.

Please help!

Thanks
Jing

You need to mention which OS and DB2 version you are using.

Before you apply the patch,
1. If unix [aix], did you do 'slibclean'?
2. Was the DAS down ?
3. Did you check for any db2 hanging processes?
For a update of patch, IBM says that the DB2 should be completely
stopped..

Try restarting the DAS.
