If you go to fix pack 4, the functionality exists to return the value as
you do the insert. Check out the web documentation for fix pack 4.

AM Sequences or identity










Hi,

How do you populate your surrogated keys, sequences or identity ?
(DB2 UDB 8.1/aix 5.2)

If using identity you have to query the data you just inserted to know the
value of the key as there is no returning clause in DB2.
