Re: Problem with Information Integrator

Install the II into the alternate fix pack. You can basically rename the
base binaries to the regular base and then make a
symbolic link to the alternate and install the II code. Then unlink the
symbolic link and change back to the regular. You
could also look into the install scripts of II and point it to the
alternate fix pack.

Problem with Information Integrator

Hi folks,

Maybe someone have already come across this issue an can quickly tell me
what is wrong here:

I have successfully installed and configured Information Integrator on
UDB 8.1 Fix Pack 5 platform running on AIX 5.1 I was able to define
Sybase data source and create SERVER, WRAPPER, NICKNAMES and all that
jazz. Works perfectly! I can see and access Sybase tables and views.

However, when I have recently rolled out an Alternative Fix Pack 8 for
the UDB (we have multi instance environment and some of the instances
must remain on the lower level because of the application compatibility)
The Information Integrator component has stopped working. More to it,
when I tried to drop and recreate SERVER, WRAPPER, etc... I am getting
an error that some libraries cannot be loaded (do not have exact message
at this point but can post it tomorrow).

I am pretty sure that this has to do with the fact that current instance
has been updated using db2iupdt utility from the alternative Fix Pack
installation directory and not from the main binary; therefore, some of
the links may be missing.

Any idea on how to fix this?

Thanks,

Dmitry.
