Re: DB2 on MacOS X?

DB2 makes available a full function JDBC Type 4 driver that you can use to
have connectivity to all DB2 Family servers (DB2 for Linux, UNIX, Windows,
DB2 for OS/390 and z/OS, DB2 for iSeries and Cloudscape). Connecting to DB2
for zSeries and DB2 for iSeries requires a license for DB2 Connect.
I am not familiar enough to say If database connectivity in
Objective-C/Cocoa can be accomplished via JDBC. If there is a way to make
JDBC calls then you can use the JDBC driver and you can actually
redistribute it as part of your application. Here is where you get both the
driver and the license to redistribute:

PS. I realize that Objective-C/Cocoa is basically C and you would more
likely be looking at C-based interfaces like DB2 CLI or ODBC. IBM does not
offer these interfaces on MacOS X platform.

DB2 on MacOS X?

I would need to connect to a DB2 database from an Objective-C/Cocoa
application running under MacOS X. The application is currently running
with Oracle and Sybase, but I'm adding support for DB2 due to customer
demand. I seem to recall that there used to be a client available for
the Mac, but I can't find any references to it any longer.
