Re: Any suggestions appreciated

DB2 does not manage user authentication. Instead it relies on the OS to
verify that the user is who he/she claims he is. So, the obvious question
is: do you have the same user id and password defined on the new server
i.e. do you have the id and password that Content Manager used on the old
server defined on the new one as well?

To figure this out, go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer
Management and expand Local Users and Groups in the explorer tree on the
left. See if there is a user id in the local users. If Content Manager uses
domain id to interact with DB2 then make sure that this domain id belongs
to a group that is authorised to access DB2.

It is very difficult to diagnose what the issue is with the information
that you have provided. Would it be possible for you to give more
information about the errors you are seeing and the process you used to
copy the drive over to the other server. For the future, I highly recommend
that you look in to the HADR facility in DB2
(http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/db2/udb/hadr.html) to keep your
database running even in the case of hardware and software failures. HADR
works very well with DB2 on Windows and it is a breeze to set up.

We had a server failed and copied the drive over to another server. We can
not log into the UDB application (Content Manager). It gives what looks
like an authorization error. Is there something else that needs to be
done.
This is UDB on a Windows platform. I have very limited knowledge working
with Windows UDB so please be explicit as to what I need to do. Any help
is
appreciated. Thank you,
