RE: Db2 UDB 8 and Active Directory

If you are just looking to be able to give security to domain users for
access...? Just join it into the domain and add your domain users into
the proper security groups. You will need to add the domain user or
group to certain local groups. It depends on how you have your
authentication setup in DBM CFG params SYSADM,SYSCTRL,SYSMAINT or if you
are handling security through your applications. Of course, I assume
you are testing this out on a development box prior to doing production.

Subject: Db2 UDB 8 and Active Directory

Hi everyone,

I have a number of DB2 UDB 8 servers running of Windows 2003 boxes.
Currently servers are not part of any domain. From the web i learned
that
I must extend the schema for Active Directory by running the DB2 UDB
Schema Installation program, 7 db2schex before the first installation of

DB2 UDB on any machine that is part of a Windows domain.
Does this mean that in order to use LDAP (have access to Active
Directory
users) I have to remove DB2 from my Windows servers, run db2schex and
reinstall DB2 back?

Thanks
