network error connecting from db2 client to db2 server

Hi all,

I have installed db2 administration client in my windows pc. My db2
server resides in AIX box in US. When trying to connect from my windows
to AIX db2 server, I got the following error.

SQL30081N A communication protocol error has been
detected.communication protocol being used "TCP/IP" .communication API
being used "sockets". Location where the error was detected "
".communication function detecting the error "connect" protocol specific
error code(s) : "10060","*","*". SQLSTATE = 08001

While connecting from unix machine to another unix machine I used PCTT
tool to check the sockets binding and connectivity.

Is there any tool to check whether binding took place properly and to
find out where the error is?

Is there any steps I should follow before connecting( like setting
services file and protocol files)

Thanks,

Regards,

Venkat.
