How are you cancelling the federated query ? via a cancel thead on zos? or
a force application on your pe database?

PM Personal Connect to Federated to
z/OS thread will not manually
cancel

Our environment consists of clients (DB2 Connect Personal Edition)
connecting to an AIX Federated (v8.2) database that has Nicknames for
tables that reside on DB2 for z/OS v7.1. The issue we are having is
this, when we want to cancel a query, it continues to run on both the
AIX and z/OS.

If we connect (using CONPE) directly to z/OS using the INTERRUPT_ENABLE
setting in CONPE everything is fine, the thread gets canceled very
quickly.

If we connect (using CONPE) directly to AIX only (and run a query on a
table local to that AIX box), again everything is fine, the query gets
canceled very quickly.

If we connect directly from the AIX box to z/OS and cancel the thread,
it gets canceled very quickly (after we set the INTERRUPT_ENABLE on the
DCS catalog entry).

However, the CONPE, to AIX Federated, to z/OS doesn't cancel, it just
continues to run.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this linkage between
products to hook up and pass that interrupt all the way from the CONPE
client to the z/OS machine which is running the query.

Thanks in advance.
