RollBack process

RollBack process

Is there a way by which we can know the progress of the Rollback
process. The rollback process on my machine is running for the past 24
hrs. I am not sure whether the process is actually running or hanging.

Using nmon tool on my AIX box I can see the db2 process 'db2sysc'
running but it would be better if I can know the progress of RollBack.
There are no other applications running on the machine.

Is it normal for RollBack to continue for 24 hrs.

We had to "db2stop force" yesterday (which in turn induced this RollBack
process) when one of our applications occupied the whole of transaction
log file (20 GB size) and killing that application did not work. There
are no errors in db2diag.log

I think it's doing rollback, I would not do anything because even if you
stop it, when you restart it has to go through crash recovery and
rollback.

It's very normal depends on how long your transaction has been running.

Our DB2 transaction Log File was full. We tried to kill the application
that was responsible for it. But even after using DB2 force applications
all' several times the application was still running. Lastly we tried
'd2stop force'. It has been more than 1.5 hours but the command('d2stop
force') is still executing. Is it normal?

While it is still running NO errors has been reported in db2diag.log.

Our Log File size is almost 20GB.

Environment DB2 8.2 / AIX.
