I have a server that is running DB2 8.1 on Windows 2000 Server. I'm trying
to create an ODBC connection to the database from another machine running
Windows XP Pro. It should be pretty simple, but for some reason the XP
machine won't recognize the database. When I create the ODBC connection and
then try the test the connection through the wizard, I get an error
(SQL3008IN SQLSTATE 08001). Also, when I try to test the connection using
Excel, I get an error (SQL1013N SQLSTATE 42705). It says that it doesn't
recognize the alias of the database. I'm not sure, but I don't think it
sees the database machine. I'm not even getting prompted to provide a user
id or password. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
