If you are suspecting Load operation to be too slow, then, you can
1. If you have only one processor, set CPU_PARALLELISM=1 and set
SAVECOUNT=10000.
This will speed up the LOAD process.
2. If you have multi processor, then the Load operation uses the
Parallelism and by setting the SAVECOUNT,
it speeds up the operation. [In this you can set CPU_PARALLELISM to #
of processors].

LOAD just hangs.






I am locking up when ever I try to do a LOAD.

The db has gone through crash recovery and started up fresh. But, as
soon as I issue the LOAD command, regardless of the table I try to load,
the LOAD just sits there with a status of "Load in Progress"

Earlier it seemed that I was in lock contention with an index build.
But, that finished and it seems that perhaps just the LOAD is at fault.
There is nothing else running.

Has anyone seen this before/
