Re: Event monitor, DB2DETAILDEADLOCK

I believe there is an APAR on this. Check it out on the IBM Support site. I am at home and don't have full access. I've seen the message even when the event monitor was disabled (state 0).

basically in the default detail lock event monitor you are running out of
space or not finding a place to
put the temp files (it looks like there isnt a target)

if you want to get rid of the messages, look at the target location for
this and expand it or if you want to
turn it off

db2 "set event monitor DB2DETAILDEADLOCK state 0"

Event monitor, DB2DETAILDEADLOCK

Hi all.

When having a look at db2diag.log I see the following message appearing in
short intervals:

2005-10-28-09.27.05.625000+120 I480754784H323 LEVEL: Warning
PID : 1224 TID : 1652 PROC : db2syscs.exe
INSTANCE: DB2 NODE : 000
FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, database monitor, sqm___sqlmeiot, probe:7
MESSAGE : target type 0 failed to open DB2DETAILDEADLOCK with rc
-2146631637

When executing
SELECT * FROM syscat.eventmonitors
I get the following:

EVMONNAME DEFINER TARGET_TYPE TARGET MAXFILES
MAXFILESIZE BUFFERSIZE IO_MODE WRITE_MODE ...
----------------- ---------- ----------- ----------------- --------
----------- ---------- ------- ---------- ---------
DB2DETAILDEADLOCK owner_name F db2detaildeadlock 20
512 17 B A ...

Does this mean the event monitors is running but has no existing target
file?
When using the Control Center I get no information about event monitors.

What can I do to get rid of these messages?
How can I get information about the event monitor's configuration?
How can I alter the monitor's configuration (i.e. defining a target
file...)?

(DB2: 8.2 Fixpack 7, OS: Windows 2000 Server)

Thanks in advance,
Otfrid
