That along with with ps -ef | grep agent or list applications show detail
will show you the actual number of agents.

List applications will allow you to correlate to 'MAXAPPLS' Each
applcation
can potentially have multiple agents. Take a look at 'db2 get snapshot for
dbm' to see all the agents associated with your instance. And you can
review 'db2 get snapshot for all applications' to see if there is a
particular application using many agents.

Subject: maximum number of agents has been exceeded
Hi,
I am getting the error as "maximum number of agents
has been exceeded." When I looked into the list
applications and counted on the no. of applications ,
it is showing very less, [1/5]th of MAXAGENTS.
The error message is as below. And all new client
connections are being thrown out complaining the above
reason. We have MAXAGENTS as 600 and no. of
connections as 102. But I am seeing this error. oes
'list applications' really say how many agents are
there [applications]. If not which command should I
use to get the total no. of agents.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Girish

maximum number of agents has been exceeded.
