Re: DB2 connect error

check your tcpip settings in the dbm cfg.
TCP/IP Service name (SVCENAME) = (use the entry from the /etc/services
file that corresponds to "Instance client server (CAE) port number"

Then perform
db2set DB2COMM=TCPIP

Hi All DB2 Gurus,

I am getting the following error while connecting to one of our db2
databases. I am new to db2 and have no idea what this means.

db2 => connect to dbrp user dwprod
Enter current password for dwprod:
SQL30081N A communication error has been detected. Communication protocol
being used: "TCP/IP". Communication API being used: "SOCKETS". Location
where the error was detected: "198.203.236.209". Communication function
detecting the error: "connect". Protocol specific error code(s): "146",
"*",
"*". SQLSTATE=08001

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chirag Bhagat
