The solution for your problem is to use the remotely cataloged database.
It looks strange but it is the solution. If u start using remotely
cataloged database, u will not see this error.

Hi Gurus,
I have installed DB2 7.2 on AIX 4.3. The installation looks like it is ok.
But when I run db2cc, the GUI comes, the instance is there and when I try
to
create a database or view some properties, I am having this error:
SQL1224N
a database agent could not be started

Can one help,
