RE: Backup Gurus

RE: Backup Gurus

Anil,

Technically the answer is "No" but it depends on the data since the last
backup.
Incremental backup means - DB2 backs up all of the data that has
changed since the last full database backup.
Delta backup means - DB2 backs up only the data that has changed since
the last successful full, incremental, or delta backup.

Thanks!

Subject: Backup Gurus

UDB 7.2 on AIX 5.2

Do incremental and Delta backups take longer than a full backup ? My
understanding was that they should be done quicker than a full backup.
Are
there any scenarios in which they will take longer than a full backup ?

Any insight into this is appreciated.

Thanks

Anil
