RE: Memory -DB2

RE: Memory -DB2

I'd find out what is happening at that time frame - Examples:

* Someone is running a batch job that is poorly tuned and using
an abnormal amount of resources

* Lots of people are signing on to the system and the login
procedure is resource intensive

I'd capture the SQL that is being run when the problem occurs (start the
capture before the problem begins) and see what is being executed.

Is this when everyone starts up the connections to the database via the
WAS

connection pool ?

Is the database always being used? or do all the connections go away
after

days end?

Find out what "slow" means. Is it the first connect ? or some other
thing

they are doing and track it down from there.

Memory -DB2

Hello Everyone,

Good Morning.

We are running an application in SuSe Linux 9.0 , IBM WAS 6.0 and IBM
DB2

UDB 8.2. It is an intranet application.

Every day morning around 9:00 to 9:00 AM I am getting a complaint from
all

the users that system is very slow.

I have checked the System memory using free -m command and it is

comfortable and I can see some of the db2 services is

taking more memory , I can see that in TOP command .

OUTPUT OF THE TOP:

PID - User - PR -NI - VIRT- RES - SHR-S-%CPU-- %MEM

--Command

25807 - db2inst1 - 16 - 0 -696m- 240m-55m-S- 85 --12 * db2sysc

Can anyone please let me know wot is the respective process for the PID.
Is

there any tools or commands to find out the application pertaining to
the

PID. So that it will be easy for me to tune the application / Stored

Procedure.

Thanks and Regards

Avu
